First Barn Quilt in Washington County, Colorado!!!

On Thursday May 5, Nancy headed to Washington County, Colorado  for the YWKC League Art Event.  Nancy and the art teacher Cathy Martin worked with 40 students  in grades 9-12 from the areas schools.  The students designed the quilt block and each color in the block is represented by each school.

   Otis and Bethune - true red
   Idalia - maroon
   Lone Star - royal or med blue

Nancy showed the students the finer points of taping and painting a barn quilt.  The barn quilt will be the first to be displayed in Washington County, Colorado.

12.) 110 Sherman St. - 'Spool', 'True Lovers Knot', and 'Mothers Choice' - Senior Citizens Center

The Fort Morgan Senior Citizens Center located on the corner of Sherman St. and Railroad has 3 barn quilts displayed on three different sides. The first is 'Mother's Choice', the second is 'Spool' and the last one is one that was it's own design starting with the center which is called 'True Lovers Knot'
